Awqaf Africa Scholars Fund: Supporting Brilliant African Students in Malaysia

Introduction

Awqaf Africa is dedicated to empowering the future leaders of Africa through education. Our latest initiative focuses on supporting brilliant African students who have received postgraduate sponsorships for tuition fees at Malaysian universities. We aim to provide a monthly stipend of 1,500 MYR to cover living expenses and food, ensuring these students can focus entirely on their studies without financial worries.

Objectives

1. Support African Excellence: Identify and support academically outstanding African students who have secured postgraduate admissions and tuition fee sponsorships at Malaysian universities.
2. Ensure Financial Stability: Provide a monthly stipend of 1,500 MYR to cover living and food expenses, ensuring students can fully concentrate on their academic pursuits.
3. Foster International Collaboration: Strengthen educational and cultural ties between Africa and Malaysia by facilitating the exchange of knowledge and ideas.

Criteria for Selection

1. Nationality: The applicant must be an African national.
2. Admission: The applicant must have received an offer letter for postgraduate studies from a recognized university in Malaysia.
3. Tuition Sponsorship: The applicant must have secured a tuition fee sponsorship.
4. Academic Excellence: The applicant must have a strong academic record, evidenced by a high GPA from previous qualifications.

Budget

To support one student for the duration of a two-year postgraduate program, the estimated budget is:

• Monthly Stipend: 1,500 MYR x 24 months = 36,000 MYR
• Administrative Costs: 4,000 MYR (application processing, monitoring, and support)
• Total per Student: 40,000 MYR
