Organizational Overview

 

Awqaf Africa is a non-governmental organization dedicated to empowering African youth through Waqaf (Islamic endowment) movements. Our organization is driven by a vision of creating a future where African youth are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and resources to drive positive change in their communities through the principles of Waqaf. We believe in the power of Waqaf to foster sustainable community development, promote education, entrepreneurship, and leadership among African youth, and inspire a culture of giving and philanthropy.

 

Programme Information

 

Awqaf Africa presents “Qurban for All,” a comprehensive initiative aimed at distributing Qurbani meat to communities in need across various countries, fostering unity, and spreading the spirit of sacrifice during the blessed month of Dhul Hijjah. This proposal outlines the logistics, budget, and impact of the project, which aims to distribute 60 cows to beneficiaries in Guinea, Tanzania, Ghana, and Nigeria.

 

Objectives

  1. To provide Qurbani meat to marginalized communities in targeted countries during Dhul Hijjah.
  2. To promote unity, compassion, and the spirit of sacrifice among diverse communities.
  3. To foster sustainable development and alleviate food insecurity in beneficiary regions.

 

Program Details

  • Name: Qurban for All: Uniting Hearts through Shared Sacrifice
  • Duration: During the month of Dhul Hijjah 2024
  • Target Audience: 60,000 people from 4 Countries including: Guinea, Tanzania, Ghana, and Nigeria
  • Target Collection Amount: USD 40,903 (RM 192,000)

 

Expected Outcomes

  1. Provision of Qurbani meat to over 60,000 beneficiaries across four countries.
  2. Promotion of unity and solidarity among diverse communities.
  3. Alleviation of food insecurity and improvement of nutrition among marginalized populations.
  4. Enhanced awareness of Islamic principles of charity and sacrifice.
